Framed Canvas

A framed canvas takes the same gallery-wrapped matte canvas and adds a floating frame: a slim wooden surround that sits a few millimetres away from the canvas edge, so a thin shadow line runs around the picture. The effect is finished and deliberate, closer to what you see in a gallery than a bare wrap, and it protects the corners when the piece is moved.

Frames come in black, white and natural wood. Black sharpens high-contrast images and skylines; white keeps coastal and botanical pieces light; natural wood warms up abstracts and watercolours in rooms with timber furniture. The frame adds roughly 0.75 inch to each side, so a 24 x 16 inch canvas finishes close to 25.5 x 17.5 inches. Check the Size Guide before ordering for a tight alcove.
